Welcome to the Success Canvas webpage
The Success Canvas has been used in several projects and courses (including IS Project Management/UMinho).
The new version (v4) of the Success Canvas is now available for download.
The Success Canvas was used to define the success details of a project (SP2) from the Factory of Future: Smart Manufacturing, a partnership between the company Bosch and the University of Minho.
The Success Canvas was used to define the evaluation of success of a project (P15) from the programme INNOVATIVE Car HMI, a partnership between the company Bosch and the University of Minho.
The first version of the Project Management Success Map/Success Canvas was tested in a workshop with students of the University of Minho (MiEGSI).
The Project Management Success Map® (or just Success Canvas®) is a one-page overview that layouts what means
“success” in your project and what is relevant to achieving it, highlighting success factors, expected benefits, and criteria
for evaluating success. It is an excellent tool to create the basis for implementing Success Management in your projects.
It was developed in the Department of Information Systems of the University of Minho, by João Varajão.
It is helpful for both existing and new projects. The individual elements prompt thoughts within the several relevant aspects (e.g., success factors and criteria for evaluating success). At the same time, the capability to create a complete overview encourages perspectives and ideas on how those pieces fit together in the project. Its structure also helps focus the attention in each project’s time frame (before, during, and after the project).
To create a Success Canvas®, the easiest way is to organize activities around the following process.
